There are a multitude of different baby pillows on the market today. They all have some unique function, and I actually think some of them are legitimate! There are baby pillows that position the head and body of the baby while they are sleeping, there are baby pillows that are specifically designed for nursing, and there are even baby pillows designed to position a baby while they are riding in the car, just to name a few.
I really like the pillows for the bassinette which are positioned on both side of the baby while they sleep. They positioning the baby so that they are flat on their back, which is the recommended sleep position. These are great baby pillows, but there is a new version that I think is even better. The new version of this pillow has memory foam which will mold to the shape of baby’s head, making it mold to the pillow This will prevent a flat spot from forming on the back of baby’s head. This baby pillow will also prevent baby from rolling around, helping to promote a peaceful night’s sleep because baby is in the same spot all night.
An additional type of baby pillow that is on the market today is known as a nursing pillow. These pillows are crescent shaping and come in handy for all sorts of things…not just nursing. I have found that they are great for supporting baby to view books, bottle feed, or be held, in addition to being great for nursing. I have found that these pillows have a multitude of uses and should be on every mom’s wish list, whether they are nursing or not.
Car pillows are great to support baby’s head while riding in a car seat. They are great to lean on when baby gets tuckered out. I like the fact that they keep baby’s head away from the plastic on the car seat. Most car seats come with a pillow, but I prefer to purchase a separate one. It always seems like the ones that are included are just not quite as good as one that you have picked out yourself.
Baby pillows are great for so many uses. They can be used for many tasks, from support when feeding to riding in the car. Some of them are a bit pricy, but they are worth every penny, especially if you buy them for your first baby and use them several times thereafter.
